Intelligent Diagnostic Controller - Engineered
Main components
Our engineered controllers are based on the IDC24-AF model and assembled in-house to ensure Val Controls' high standards of quality.
Each unit includes three main components:
- IDC24-AF
- Terminal Box
- Line Bushing
All components are individually IECEx and ATEX certified, meeting relevant IECEx and ATEX standards.
Component 1
IDC24-AF
The IDC24-AF valve controller is constructed from SS316L cast material and carries certifications from IECEx and ATEX.
Component 2
Terminal box
Horizontal mounted Ex terminal box.
Component 3
Line bushing
The IDC24-AF and terminal box is connected with a Ex certified line bushing to ensure a secure and reliable connection.
Local control panel options
In the AFL versions, it is possible to add push buttons, lamps, and selectors. All are shrouded and lockable. Power consumption for the lamp is <1 W.
All items have a label in polyester, with a white face and black text, and are screwed on.
Push button
The following functions are available:
Close: Press for 3 sec. to close the valve.
Open: Press for 3 sec. to open the valve.
Start with abort: Press for 3 sec. to start the test; press for 1 sec. to abort the test.
Reset: Connected to terminals and controlled by the DCS.

Closed indicator (with moving blink):
Lamp flashing: Moving to close
Lamp on: Closed
Open indicator (with moving blink):
Lamp flashing: Moving to open
Lamp on: Open
Fail with test in progress:
Lamp flashing: Test in progress
Lamp on: Test fail
Test in progress:
Lamp on: Test in progress

Connected to terminals and controlled by the DCS
Selector
The following functions are available:
Remote/Local selector: 2 positions (Remote/Local). All buttons only operate when in Local mode.
