This positioner features a stainless steel (CF3M) enclosure that is flame and explosion-proof, making it suitable for use in hazardous areas. On customer demand, a local control panel can be added to the positioner. For example, the panel may include push buttons to open and close the valve and a switch to switch between local and remote control.

This positioner is typically used for proportional systems because it provides six digital outputs and four inputs, making it highly versatile. It is equipped with an advanced calibration process that, when combined with the regulator, ensures fast and reliable positioning of actuators. This results in optimal performance and precision for your system.

The positioner is compatible with all types of actuators, including hydraulic, pneumatic, or electro-hydraulic, as well as spring return, double-acting, and stepping actuators.

4-20mA/HART

In addition to the local control panel, the IHP24-AF can be controlled by the local user interface. On the local user interface, you can see the status of the valve system, check error messages, start auto calibration, and configure the positioner. The USB port provides easy access to configure the positioner on a PC using ValConnect.

Val Controls provides a magnetic touch pen that gives full access to the local user interface when the valve system is in operation. This eliminates the need to open the Ex D enclosure to operate the push buttons.

The local user interface is fitted with various indication LEDs that display, for example, if valve movement is in progress or if the valve is open or closed.
